An elegant gold propelling pencil holder by Alexander Treiden, featuring a fluted barrel decorated with spiral grooves and a sapphire-set slide mechanism. A suspension loop allows the piece to be worn from a chain, as was customary for refined personal accessories of the period.
The holder bears St Petersburg hallmarks, the 56 zolotnik gold standard and the workmaster’s mark ‘AT’. The sapphire is in good condition. There are light dents and signs of wear, while the slide mechanism is stiff but functional.
