George IV, Pattern Shilling, 1820, London, by Benedetto Pistrucci, as the adopted Currency Issue, London, laureate head left, rev. crowned shield with elaborate garnish, escutcheon of the Arms of Hanover inset at centre, edge milled, 5.69g, 6h (Davies 210; Bull 2394 [R5]; ESC 1246 [R5]; cf. S.3810), lightly brushed below portrait with moderate hairlines to otherwise brilliant, original fields. a most pleasingly bold extremely fine and truly much as issued, of the highest rarity with fewer than 10 specimens extant, several of which are impounded in museums
